About Saint Jacob:
Saint Jacob, also known as Saint James the Just, a prominent figure in early Christianity and one of the leaders of the Jerusalem Church. According to Christian tradition, he was the brother of Jesus and is often referred to as "James the Brother of the Lord." Saint James is known for his piety, wisdom, and commitment to justice, which earned him the title "the Just." He played a vital role in guiding the early Christian community, and he is credited with writing the Epistle of James, a New Testament book emphasising practical faith, social justice, and living out one’s beliefs. His depiction in this icon shows him with a halo, symbolising his holiness, and the traditional hand gesture of blessing, highlighting his role as a spiritual leader.
