About Saint Elizabeth of Hungary:
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, born in 1207, is celebrated for her profound compassion and dedication to serving the poor and the sick. As a member of the royal family, she was married to Ludwig IV of Thuringia, but despite her noble status, she chose to live a life of humility and service. After the death of her husband, Elizabeth devoted herself entirely to charitable work, building hospitals and caring for those in need. Her selfless acts included feeding the hungry and providing shelter for the homeless, often at great personal sacrifice. Canonised in 1235, Saint Elizabeth is remembered as a model of Christian charity and love. She is the patron saint of bakers, hospitals, and the homeless, and her feast day is celebrated on November 17th. Her legacy continues to inspire acts of kindness and generosity in the service of others.
