About Saint Basil:
Saint Basil the Great, a key figure in the Greek Orthodox Church, was a 4th-century bishop, theologian, and one of the Three Hierarchs. Born in Caesarea, Cappadocia, he dedicated his life to deepening Christian understanding and promoting charity. Known for his influential writings on the Holy Trinity, Saint Basil also established guidelines for monastic life that continue to shape Eastern Orthodox monasticism today. As a bishop, he founded hospitals, orphanages, and charitable institutions, tirelessly serving the poor and vulnerable. His wisdom, humility, and advocacy for the needy earned him immense respect. Saint Basil’s feast day is celebrated on 1st January, and he is remembered as a model of faith, compassion, and commitment to God’s work.
